Nothing can truly prepare a person for becoming a parent for the first time. The flood of emotions is beyond any that you will ever experience. Grown men who have faced enemy fire are often reduced to tears by the sight of their newborn child. In this article we will discuss a few common new baby myths. Because they worry about what it takes to care for their child, new parents are easy targets for bad advice. But the worst suggestion or tip is one that causes you to worry about your baby\'s health. One common myth is that when babies pull on their ears, it means that they have an ear infection. Thousands of new parents ask their doctors this question every year. But the truth is that babies simply like to touch warm things like ears or a duvet. After all, they have been in a warm environment (inside the mother) for nine months. So, babies often like to pull and tug on their ears. It is absolutely nothing to worry about. Another popular myth is that mothers that breast feed their babies need to eat bland diets. The reason for this is simple: babies will consume some of the flavours their mothers do through the breast milk. And if the mother eats a lot of spicy foods, this could harm the baby. But according to most pediatricians, this is simply not the case. They believe that a balanced diet rather than a bland one may actually help the child develop his palate.
The last myth we will discuss today has been around for ages. It is the myth that if you hold a child too much in the early months you will spoil him for good. While it is true that the child should be put down when he is tired or he will have trouble sleeping on his own, when he is wide awake a parent can and should hold their newborn baby and as much as possible.
